Archie comes home from work in a particularly awful mood because he has to make an important decision at work: whether to lay off a minority worker or a white man. Isn’t that Phil …
Isn’t that Phil Proctor from the “Firesign Theatre”?
Thanks for the …
Thanks for the insurance 101 lesson but do you really think the show would have been funny with your scenario ? Redlining still goes on, it’s just disguised very well by the insurance co’s.

Redlining is a *growing* phenomenon, and rightfully so. Insurance is based upon trust, and those with poor credit and/or unemployability are probably not to be trusted as much as those who “pay their dues” in society.
Wow, it was just …
Wow, it was just like today then …..
The firm Wendell …
The firm Wendell worked for was indulging in a (now) illegal practice of redlining – not writing/renewing policies in perceived high risk areas. Archie should have reported this to the insurance commissioners office to investigate – and possibly order that the cancellation be rescinded. If Wendell would confirm this it would bear much weight – but sadly I doubt he would have the moxie to get involved, especially if jobs were as tough to get then as they are now.
What a crappy day …
