In a perfect world you should save all your receipts, although that is not always possible. With your home inventory, you could also get your personal property assessed. What we do at Steve’s Home Inventory in Wisconsin is list what the customer paid for the item with the photo, as long as they remember that price. If not then the insurance company would probably justify a price.
