I don’t have insureance on my mom’s car and she won’t let me drive to a friend’s house. I get so angry I feel like she doesn’t trust me. I just got my licensce and I am 17. What should I do because I always want to go out and I am sick of getting rides all the time. Oh and the reason my mom wont put insuranse is because it is thousands of dollars
Then get a job and pay for your own insurance, dude. You are not entitled to drive without insurance – it is very dangerous and can be incredibly expensive when you wreck, which is so easy for a young inexperienced driver to do. Don’t be a brat, okay? Get a damn job.
BTW, it is ILLEGAL to drive without insurance, and at your age if you get caught, they can revoke your liscense. Grow up.

Well Doo Yah Blame Her ? :S Buy yourr own car and stop relying on yah mother !

Your mom has to choose between your personal convenience and the complete financial disaster that could happen if you hit someone or something.
The fact that you don’t see something as obvious as that is an indication that you lack judgement,
just like every other 17-year old – mainly concerned about yourself in the present and not really able to understand the downstream ramifications of your actions. Not trying to insult you or be disrespectful. That’s just the way it is with most teenagers.
It’s not about trust either. I’m sure she DOES trust you. I’m sure you would not intentionally drive the car into a telephone pole. Car accidents, however, is not a matter of trust. You have no control over what other cars do, for example. Your car could get side swiped while parked.
You also have this sense of entitlement. Like – of course your mom should pay the extra thousands of dollars for your insurance. Well, dude, if your mom is a millionaire, then I’d agree with you. Otherwise, yeah – insurance is pretty expensive for teenagers. The reason: they lack judgement and don’t see the ramifications of their actions.
So, what should you do? Chill out.
