The fact that you don't see something as obvious as that is an indication that you lack judgement, just like every other 17-year old - mainly concerned about yourself in the present and not really able to understand the downstream ramifications of your actions. Not trying to insult you or be disrespectful. That's just the way it is with most teenagers. It's not about trust either. I'm sure she DOES trust you. I'm sure you would not intentionally drive the car into a telephone pole. Car accidents, however, is not a matter of trust. You have no control over what other cars do, for example. Your car could get side swiped while parked. You also have this sense of entitlement. Like - of course your mom should pay the extra thousands of dollars for your insurance. Well, dude, if your mom is a millionaire, then I'd agree with you. Otherwise, yeah - insurance is pretty expensive for teenagers. The reason: they lack judgement and don't see the ramifications of their actions. So, what should you do? Get a damn job. BTW, it is ILLEGAL to drive without insurance, and at your age if you get caught, they can revoke your liscense.
